The Red Sox have had a tough last few years. Finishing in last place in there division last year, they made some off season moves and dramatically improved there team. The Red Sox have the biggest statistical analyst on there side. Bill James is working with the Red Sox and I think that he is a big reason that they are so successful. This ball club was fighting for the division title during the regular season. By the end of the season they won the division five and a half games. The Red Sox Shane Victorino demonstrated his power with a grand slam home run in Game 6. I think that he has lots of confidence going into the World Series. The same thing applies to David Ortiz. He had a grand slam in Game 5.
The Cardinals are a team that did not have the easiest division. Three teams in the Cardinals division made the playoffs. The Cardinals won the World Series in 2011 with David Freeze's walk off homer. The Cardinals have now taken Carlos Beltran with them to the World Series for his first time ever. Beltran has been a great player throughout his career and does not look like he is slowing down. Between Beltran, Freeze and Molina offensively and defensively that is what got them where they are this year. I think that the Cardinals continue doing what they are doing, and win the 2013 World Series.
